OPT2019

We welcome you to participate in the 11th OPT Workshop on Optimization for Machine Learning. This year's OPT workshop will be run as an independent event, co-located with NeurIPS in Vancouver. It will happen on December 14th, overlapping with the NeurIPS workshops, to facilitate easy switching between the two venues for attendees.

We are looking forward to an exciting OPT 2019!

Location: Exchange Hotel Vancouver

The Workshop

Optimization lies at the heart of many machine learning algorithms and enjoys great interest in our community. Indeed, this intimate relation of optimization with ML is the key motivation for the OPT series of workshops. We aim to foster discussion, discovery, and dissemination of state-of-the-art optimization relevant to ML.

Whilst the OPT workshop series has grown with the NeurIPS conference in the past years, this year's edition of the workshop will be run–due to strong demand from the community–as an independent event. Hope to see you there!

The workshop will be hosted at the Exchange Hotel Vancouver, which is a short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the Vancouver convention center, the venue for the NeurIPS conference. We tried hard to get a location right next to the main conference venue to facilitate easy switching between the two venues for attendees.

Registration

Registration is free, but due to space limitations it is mandatory. A majority of the registrations will be held back for contributors (speakers, authors of accepted papers, reviewers, volunteers, organizing committee). Registration sold out! (Please have your eventbrite confirmation ready to show on request). We have reached the capactity limit of the venue. However, as the capacity/attendance could change during the day we encourace interested participants without ticket to swing by during the day to check for available seats (no guarantees though).

Unfortunately, the venue will not be large enough to host all of the community. We are currently investigating further options.

Important Dates

Please note that at least one author of each accepted paper must be available to present the paper at the workshop.
